The new LED light bulbs were pegged at 2.7 watts each compared to the 25 watts Incandescent based bulbs they have replaced. After a long trial of the LED bulbs to verify if the bulbs’ dimmer can work with theatrical dimmers, the Lyric Theatre have decided to keep the bulbs and are now staying on the better side of lighting saving over 85% on electricity, thousands of dollars on maintenance and replacements costs .

“We were tasked to the challenge of providing one of Sydney’s most renowned theatres with a lighting solution that provided better quality for the patrons. To boot, this new lighting system has to be more environment friendly and cost efficient compared with the Incandescent bulbs that they had been using since. Being able to use dimmers on the new bulbs was also mandatory. With all that said, we were happy we had the perfect product, our 2.7W LED candle light bulbs in clear color”, said Michael Moskvin, Managing Director of the LiquidLEDs Lighting in Australia.

The candle LED bulbs that are now lighting the Sydney Lyric come from a range of bulbs that are elegant and cost efficient. They are made especially for decorative purposes without giving off heat and high maintenance costs. They even come in 3 distinct shapes; regular, flame tipped and twisted. They also come in 3 finishes to choose from; clear, pearl, and opal. Of course, they are dimmable as well.
