Feb. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- “What we put on our bodies is just as important as what we put in it”

It was 2006 when Elaina Watkins learned of all the toxic ingredients in her skincare products. Her 10-year old son, Craig was diagnosed with cancer which raised her awareness of the chemicals she and her family were exposed to. “My husband and I became avid readers of the ingredients in the products we used for ourselves and for our children. We were shocked to learn that we were using many products with toxic and synthetic ingredients that were linked to a host of health issues.”

Watkins began crafting her own products at home. “I started out making products simply for the benefit of using non-toxic skincare products. I discovered an extra benefit when many of the skin problems my family and I were suffering from – such as chronically dry and irritated skin - quickly disappeared,” says Watkins. “Blue Marble Body Care was born out of that discovery and my strong desire to share all of the benefits of this newfound goodness.”

Watkins launched Blue Marble Body Care (BMBC), a natural skincare company that uses enriching skin foods – plant oils, butters, and extracts - to formulate their products. The company, whose products were once available by mail order only, has launched their website making their products available online.

“I personally understand the frustrations of trying product after product for the skin with no favorable results. I also understand the overwhelming task of trying to understand what is natural and what is not when it comes to skincare ingredients,” says Watkins.  “BMBC recognizes that it can empower women and their families with a heightened experience with and a deeper understanding of natural skincare by providing premium skincare products and valuable tips on caring for your body naturally.”

“There is a wealth of information out there about quality foods and ingredients to use for the inside of our bodies, but what about the outside of our bodies? Our skin is the body’s largest organ. What we put on our bodies is just as important as what we put in it. This is why we are committed to combining education with our natural skincare line. This combination empowers and inspires a more conscious community with what it means to care for the body richly and naturally.”

Watkins is a sought after speaker delivering her powerful and inspiring message with such organizations as the New York Public Library, Operation Hope, and My Sister’s Keeper.

BMBC products have been featured in front of thousands at various Health and Wellness conferences, spas, and expos – including Circles of Sisters in New York City.  BMBC provides its products, blogs, and videos via www.bluemarblebodycare.com.
