Multi-Vehicle Crash in Downtown Dallas Brings Traffic to a Halt

A motorist who was involved in the crash told reporters that her car was rear ended by a tractor-trailer rig, which forced the two other vehicles involved in the accident into a concrete wall that separates the west and eastbound lanes.  The tractor-trailer was partially on top of the concrete wall when it came to rest, causing traffic to slow on both sides of the highway.  The resulting backlog of traffic stretched for miles on Interstate 35E as well as I-30.

As a result of the crash, the tractor-trailer rig spilled diesel fuel onto the highway; Hazmat crews were summoned to the scene for clean up.
