Follow on Google News | Wine and Design to Support Therapeutic Alternatives with Fundraiser on February 10thJamestown painting studio to raise funds to support individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and addictive diseases
By: Wine and Design Therapeutic Alternatives, Inc. (www.mytahome.com) The Cap and Mabel Burrow Foundation raises money throughout the year to help support people with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and addictive diseases with much-needed items and services. Jennifer Barbee, Vice President of Marketing with Therapeutic Alternatives and Board Member for The Cap and Mabel Burrow Foundation, heard about Wine and Design from a co-worker who lives near the studio. Barbee says that events, like the upcoming fundraiser at Wine and Design, are crucial revenue generators for the Foundation. “The Cap and Mabel Burrow Foundation do not receive United Way or other grant funding, so we are only able to assist people in need in our community through the generosity of individuals and businesses who donate,” explains Barbee. “Last year, our small Foundation assisted individuals and families in the Triad and Sandhills area with well over $30,000 in assistance toward necessities like food, clothing, utilities, medication, and housing. Since our inception, the Foundation has contributed well over $100,000 to helping people in need in our community.” Barbee says that she is looking forward to the Wine and Design fundraiser and that the painting party experience is something new that people are excited to experience. Wine and Design Triad is owned and operated by Jenny Ragsdale and opened its doors in Jamestown in May 2011. The painting party company provides the canvas, cover-up, paints, paintbrushes, and corkscrew and attendees provide a beverage of his or her choosing. First- “It’s wonderful to be working with Jennifer and helping to bring attention to this wonderful cause,” says Ragsdale. “Coming to this fundraiser is such a wonderful way to not only do something positive for your community, but also something nice for yourself at the same time.” For more information about The Cap and Mabel Burrow Foundation or Therapeutic Alternatives, contact Jennifer Barbee Swift at (336) 495-2734 or jennifer@mytahome.com.
