Local Nashville Youth Competes for World Sign Spinning Championship Title

Feb. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- NASHVILLE, TN – 20-year-old Colton Kinslow of Nashville, Tennessee is traveling to Las Vegas to compete in the 2012 AArrow Sign Spinning World Championships on February 10, 2012. Colton is nationally ranked 13th among 72 of the fastest and most talented sign spinners that will vie for the coveted “World’s Best” title at the championship event kicking off Friday at noon at the Freemont Experience, 425 Fremont St., Las Vegas, NV 89101.

Sign spinning has become a non-traditional marketing phenomenon that has been sweeping the nation, and Nashville has been at the epicenter of the craze. There are actual training sessions to teach athletic youth how to turn sign spinning into a work of art.  

At the event, each sign spinner will prepare a choreographed routine to a song of choice. All competitors are judged on performance and showmanship, style and originality, and technicality of trick knowledge and execution. The high toss, longest helicopter and fastest spin are three special event categories that have been added to the competition this year.

Winners will not only get to wear their sign as a badge of honor, they will also earn money toward a college education and other prizes.
