CFA Society of San Francisco To Host Seventh Annual Economic Forecast Dinner on February 9, 2012

CFASF's Forecast Dinner will be held on February 9, 2012, 4:30pm-8:30pm, at the Ritz Carlton in San Francisco. Three prominent investment professionals will share their economic and market predictions for 2012, and answer questions from the audience.

Feb. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- CFA Society of San Francisco will host its Seventh Annual Economic Forecast Dinner on Thursday, February 9, 2012, from 4:30 to 8:30 PM, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in San Francisco. The event will feature a panel of three distinguished investment professionals who will present their economic and capital markets predictions for 2012, followed by a question and answer period for the audience.

Speakers:

­Jeremy Siegel, Ph.D. - Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Jeremy Siegel is the Russell E. Palmer Professor of Finance at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated from Columbia University in 1967, received his Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1971 and spent one year as a National Science Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellow at Harvard University. Professor Siegel taught for four years at the Graduate School of Business of the University of Chicago before joining the Wharton faculty in 1976.

Professor Siegel has written and lectured extensively about the economy and financial markets, appearing frequently on CNN, CNBC, NPR and others networks. He is a regular columnist for Kiplinger’s and has contributed articles to The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, The Financial Times and other national and international news media. Professor Siegel served for 15 years as head of economics training at JP Morgan and is currently the academic director of the U.S. Securities Industry Institute.

Professor Siegel is the author of numerous professional articles and three books including Stocks for the Long Run, named by the Washington Post as one of the ten best investment books of all time.

­Vadim Zlotnikov - Chief Market Strategist, Alliance Bernstein Research  

Vadim Zlotnikov has been the Chief Market Strategist for Alliance Bernstein Research since 2010.  Previously, he was CIO of Growth Equities, Chief Investment Strategist and an analyst covering the PC and semiconductor industries at the firm. Before joining the firm in 1992, he worked as a management consultant with Booz, Allen & Hamilton, director of electronic ventures at Amoco Technology Company and research engineer at AT&T Bell Laboratories.

Zlotnikov earned a BS and an MS in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1984 and an MBA from Stanford University in 1988.

­Tad Rivelle - Chief Investment Officer, Fixed Income; Group Managing Director, TCW

As TCW’s CIO, Rivelle oversees investment management of all of TCW’s U.S. fixed income products and fixed income research and commentary. He is also a portfolio manager of numerous TCW and MetWest products. Prior to joining TCW, Tad served as Chief Investment Officer for MetWest. Prior to founding MetWest, Tad was co-director of fixed income at Hotchkis and Wiley. He was also a portfolio manager and vice president at PIMCO. Tad holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Yale University, a master's degree in applied mathematics from University of Southern California, and an M.B.A. from UCLA Anderson.

­Sheila Dharmajaran - Bloomberg Television

Sheila Dharmarajan is a markets reporter for Bloomberg Television, covering equities, currencies, commodities and fixed income trading. She is based in New York City.

Prior to joining Bloomberg Television in 2009, Dharmarajan spent seven years on Wall Street. Her experience includes working in investment banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette as well as private equity at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe and Permira. Today, Dharmarajan regularly reports on breaking news and investments in many sectors, including consumer/retail, industrial products and services, technology and healthcare.

She received her bachelor's degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Stanford University.
