Foodies Will Love Valentine’s Day At Tamarind Of London
New Hit Restaurant To Offer $50 Prix Fixe Menu For Romantics
After being served an amuse bouche, guests will enjoy a choice of a puffed rice salad called Bhel Puri, Spicy Rock Shrimp Balchao or Malai Chicken Tikka followed by one of four main courses -- Chicken Korma simmered in a fragrant creamy sauce, Tandoori Lamb Chops, Fish Ambot Tik or a vegetarian Paneer ‘Steak.’ Accompanying the main courses will be Smoked Crushed Eggplant, Black Lentils flavored with fenugreek and Kashmiri red chili, Butter Naan and steamed Basmati rice -- ideal for sharing. Topping off the meal is a choice of Dark Chocolate Kulfi ice cream or Tandoori Fruits with a mint & ginger honey glaze.
Guided by a philosophy that seeks to blend cultural authenticity with mainstream accessibility, Tamarind of London is being lauded for its eclectic menu of crossover dishes that take advantage of the West Coast’s fresh produce, seafood, poultry and lamb as well as favorite Indian classics.
The stunning $3 million restaurant boasts an elegant interior whose centerpiece is an exhibition kitchen featuring 3 large crimson-colored tandoor ovens where chefs are busy flash roasting vegetables, meats, poultry and seafood, and baking their famous naan. Guests may choose to dine at tables on the main floor, private booths along the perimeter or a communal table that offers a bird’s-eye view of the Euro-style kitchen. The lushly landscaped Garden Room comes complete with retractable walls, chef’s herb garden, a water feature and fire pits. Bar chef Shanti Dutta serves a full range of signature cocktails along with craft domestic and imported beers and nearly 50 wines by the glass.
Sister to Tamarind restaurant in Great Britain, which has received a Michelin star for each of the past 11 years, Tamarind of London is situated in the chic Crystal Cove Promenade alongside such notable destinations as Mastro’s Ocean Club and Javier’s at 7862 East Coast Hwy, Newport Beach.
