Follow on Google News | Naegleria fowleri Exposed in New Online VideoThe IAQ Video Network produces another educational video about environmental dangers due to exposure to indoor air quality contaminants.
Naegleria is a microscopic ameba that can cause a very rare, but severe, infection of the brain. The ameba is commonly found in warm freshwater and soil. Only one species of Naegleria infects people, Naegleria fowleri. “Naegleria fowleri is found around the world. In the United States, the majority of infections have been caused by the organism in freshwater locations in southern-tier states,” reported Paul Cochrane, President of Cochrane and Associates, the company behind the IAQ Video Network and the new public outreach video. “People have also been infected in the past when using neti pots for irrigating, flushing, or rinsing their sinuses. Although infects due to the ameba are rare, it’s important that people know about the infections as they are often fatal. We hope this video helps to educate people about ways to protect their health from this and other microbial contaminants and pathogens.” To view this video please visit http://www.IAQTV.com or http://www.youtube.com/ To learn more please visit http://www.cochraneassoc.com, email info@cochraneassoc.com or call (602)510-3179. # # # About Cochrane & Associates, LLC & the IAQ Video Network Cochrane & Associates is a business development, public relations and marketing consulting firm that specializes in the environmental, HVAC, mold and indoor air quality industries.
