Project Runway Alumnus Announces Exclusive Arrangement with Eveningwear Label Mikael Aghal

http://andraegonzalo.com/ Gonzalo has diversified his creative projects since participating in the “Santino” season of Bravo’s fashion reality show.  He launched the eveningwear line After Eight for Los Angeles label Single, has had his fashion illustrations published & designed costumes for numerous dance & theater companies.  He’s also provided on-camera fashion commentary for the Style Network & Mylifetime.com.  The Hollywood Standard Hotel even commissioned a visual art installation by Gonzalo for their 2011 holiday shopping season.

Gonzalo's contributions to the Mikael Aghal line are elegant & glamorous, each having an individual narrative & theatrical sensibility.  Gonzalo jokes that, "If all the world's a stage, then you'd better think about what you're wearing before you leave the wings".  Multiple layers of chiffon suggest, "I'm whimsical, but delicately confident".   Sumptuously draped matte jersey says, "I'm literally well-armed, beautifully dangerous".  All of them are meant to exude a sense of strength, power, pride & elegance.  Despite the classical dressmaking techniques & red carpet appeal, Mikael Aghal promotes wardrobe versatility. Andrae Gonzalo’s trademark style catapulted him onto the fashion & celebrity scene when participating in television’s Project Runway. Gonzalo studied theatre & performance at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts & holds a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design from Otis College of Art & Design. He has served as a member of the creative design faculty at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. Gonzalo has also costumed for famed Post Modern Choreographer Rudy Perez & won a 2010 National Theatre Award for his contribution to LACHSA’s production of Cats.
