Brilliant Interview With Trent Dudley, President East Coast Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen Inc.

Mr. Dudley, is President of the East Coast Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen Incorporated and is a retired lieutenant colonel and aviator from the United States Air Force.

What was most fascinating about Mr. Dudley's interview was his insight about the history of Tuskegee Airmen, in other words he shared the fact, black aviators were never part of the conversation in the late 1930's leading up to World War II and the conflict with Hitler and the Nazi's.

The Tuskegee Airmen had completed rigorous aviation training and was prepared to go in harms way, however the U.S. was reluctant to deploy them to forward operating positions in combat. After Army Air Corps experienced traumatic loses to Germany, the decision to deploy the Tuskegee Airmen was ordered.

History records, not one bomber was lost during the air campaign against Hitler and America and Europe owe a debt of gratitude to the men and women who fought on the front lines as the first all black air force fighting group.

As Dr. Roscoe Brown stated, "Tuskegee Airmen operated from a mantra of excellence, which means it helped them overcome inferior airplanes and philosophy as defined by the leadership of the time."
