Kickstarter Helps Local Project ‘We Love Soap’ Hit The Ground Running

Feb. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- KICKSTARTER HELPS LOCAL PROJECT ‘WE LOVE SOAP’ HIT THE GROUND RUNNING

Chelsea, MI, USA – If local soapmaker Andi Philippe gets her way, she may never have to work a ‘real’ job again. That’s because she’s using Kickstarter.com to raise funds for her new business venture, We Love Soap. Philippe started We Love Soap in December 2011, three months after being laid off from her job, and several years after she started making soap as a hobby.

We Love Soap currently makes soaps and lip balms which Philippe describes as being “healthy for both people and the environment -- no sodium laureth or lauryl sulfates and no parabens.” Providing that her Kickstarter is successful, Philippe hopes to add solid lotions, bath salts, bath bombs, and solid perfumes to her product line. She also intends to use her Kickstarter funds to buy ingredients in large enough quantities that she can purchase organic and sustainable olive, coconut, and palm oil without increasing the cost of her products.

With Kickstarter, Philippe has 30 days to raise funding for the supplies and insurance she needs to start selling her natural bath and beauty products.  Philippe jokes, “It's very similar to selling Girl Scout cookies, except instead of receiving delicious cookies, you receive delicious (smelling) soap!” Another important difference is that if she doesn’t reach her goal of $2500 in pledges, all of the funds are cancelled, and she doesn’t receive any money.
