Feb. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Pittsburgh, PA: Viper Network Systems has just announced they are offering their flagship product PacketViper, A Point and Click Country Network Filter for 30 days for FREE.
Viper Network Systems, says "We want everyone to try it! We know once PacketViper is installed. Customers will be amazed with its simplicity in its country filtering ability, and savings to network resources, personnel, bandwidth, and reduction in Global Network threats. They could not imagine their network with out one."
PacketViper a Patent Pending product filters country network traffic with a few clicks is now making everyone take a second look on how network traffic is managed and filtered.
The norm through today is purchase firewalls, SPAM filtering, IDS systems and all sorts of other intelligence to preempt undesirable traffic.
Although each of these systems work well, still necessary, and extremely important. They do not effectively pin point, target, or solve the problem of receiving unwanted and threatening traffic traversing across network links and systems.
"Why should businesses accept traffic from parts of the world you will never do business with?"
Fortunately with the creation and launch of PacketViper, businesses no longer have to accept unwanted traffic from the four corners of the world. Our customers have found when PacketViper is filtering, SPAM and global threats decrease along with bandwidth performance increasing. In fact, PacketViper works so well that some customers could not believe how immediate and effective the results were for their network.
What many do not realize is although firewalls firewall, and SPAM filters filter. The traffic is still processed and equates to bandwidth, time, and increased system loads.
PacketViper stops the new connection which in turn prevents the remaining packet payload from traversing our customer’s link.
In addition to PacketVipers impeccable country filtering, Viper Networks Systems took country filtering to the next step and included Global Network Lists (GNL’s). Their comprehensive lists have captured and cataloged millions of IP addresses and networks which are assigned to businesses such as Collocation facilities, Hosting and Cable Providers, Universities, Telco's, Tier 1 and 2 carriers, Governments, and E-Marketers to name a few. These are extremely effective when customers can not block particular countries because of their business requirements.
Our lists are provided to each customer with a network rating based on traffic trends, description, business type, A.K.A, and known locations. These lists are designed to give network administrators the ability to quickly choose to filter networks which have been known as spamming, loose, or vulnerable. Although administrators do not have to enable these lists, most of our customers have found when enabled, they drastically reduce their bandwidth usage, SPAM, and threats in addition to our country blocking features.
Our Global Network Lists are updated each evening from other secret PacketVipers called HoneyPots, and participating customers. Each help one another to harden and secure PacketViper and our customers.
PacketViper has been proven. As recent a week ago PacketViper' found itself in the middle of a coordinated global email attack.
The attack started in the early morning, when several hundred mail servers from around the world sent thousands of emails to a single customer address. Unfortunately for the attackers PacketViper was on guard.
The customer got keyed to the attack when they received alerts for high mail activity. Within a few minutes they realized the attack was on.
Although the event at its surface seemed serious and could have caused disruption if left unattended. The attack was watered down because of the customers preexisting Country and Global Network List filters on their PacketViper.
The customer was able to simply point and click the attacking networks within their unfiltered countries, and block all the networks of the sending IP’s. Within a short period the customer was able to turn a global email bomb attack into a small, less than irritating spamming event. No ports or email accounts had to be shut down.
Post attack assessment revealed PacketViper was dropping roughly a million new connections per hour, and although only 10-15 thousand messages made it to their spam firewall, the number could have been well over hundred thousand if country and GNL blocks were not in place.
Viper Network Systems said their Global Network Lists grew by several hundred, which now have network dossiers, and already been published to all PacketViper customers.
PacketViper held its ground and turned a popular email weapon ineffective. See the customer’s statistics at http://www.packetviper.com/
