Project Cuddle® and Co-Host John Stamos Honors Michelle Stafford In Long Beach on February 11, 2012

Feb. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Project Cuddle®www.projectcuddle.org  is proud to announce the nonprofit organization will honor Michelle Stafford at the annual Dinner by the Bay “Denim and Diamonds” event on Saturday February 11th, 2012 at The Hilton Long Beach and Executive Meeting Center at 701 West Ocean Blvd. Long Beach, CA.

Set against the backdrop of the Long Beach skyline, Dinner by the Bay is an evening of dining, dancing and saving lives and National Spokesperson John Stamos invites you to dress-up your denim for 2012 theme, “Denim and Diamonds”. The event is supported by Los Angeles Magazine and features an exceptional Silent Auction, Dinner and Dancing with performances by Neil Morrow Band featuring John Stamos.

An Emmy® nominated actor and producer, John Stamos is an advocate for Project Cuddle. Stamos currently serves as the non-profit’s National Spokesperson and Chairman of the Advisory Board, and has been a supporter of the charity for over eight years.  Stamos was most recently been seen in the film Father of Invention opposite Kevin Spacey. On Broadway, Stamos has had tremendous success starring in the Tony® Award-winning musicals Hairspray, Bye Bye Birdie, and Nine. Stamos began his career over 25 years ago on the hit soap General  Hospital and has since starred on such hit television series as Entourage, E.R., and recently in a multi-episode arc on FOX’s hit series, Glee. He is however perhaps best known for staring in the iconic  ABC series Full House.  Stamos continues to enjoy a wide variety of roles on film, television and the stage, and is currently in development with Twentieth Century Fox and Neil Meron & Craig Zadan for a feature musical set to the songs of the Beach Boys, whom he’s toured with over the last 25 years.

Michelle Stafford will be honored for her outstanding contribution to Project Cuddle. She has been on Project Cuddle’s Advisory Board for three years and has done a lot for Project Cuddle in the past few years by spreading the word about the cause. Currently, Michelle can be seen as Phyllis Summers on the Young and the Restless. Stafford's role as Phyllis is one of the most popular in Daytime Television and has earned her Two Emmy Awards and nine nominations.

Founder & CEO, Debbe Magnusen states, “Michelle has been a true ‘spunky’ angel.  She is always willing to lend her name to help protect the tiniest of victims…the babies.  She is getting ready to launch an on-line auction called Day Time Quacks. Ducks signed by the Stars from Day Time soaps will be auctioned off.  She has spoken with birth moms on the phone, encouraged me when I have met challenges and a true cheerleader for Project Cuddle”.

Other honorees include: President’s Choice Award: Dora Marie Klein, Founder’s Choice Award: Miguel Pola, Angel of the Year: Jeff & Syrna Glasser, Volunteer of the Year: Robin Johnson, and Phone Operator of the Year: Sandra Alvarado.

The Event Chairs this year are Talea Magnusen and Tamara Freedman and Event Hosts John Stamos and Debbe Magnusen. Lu Parker will be the Master of Ceremonies for the fundraising event with Gary Eisenberger as Co- Master of Ceremonies.

All proceeds from this event will benefit Project Cuddle® and help continue the mission of the organization to save the lives of babies from abandonment – as of today, 688 babies have been saved.

The evening begins with a silent auction featuring exciting items including gift baskets, weekend getaways, spa packages, dinner and hotel certificates and tons of other gifts for men, women and there is always a large assortment of baby items.

Project Cuddle is a non-profit organization that offers safe and legal alternatives to baby abandonment. We run a confidential toll-free 24-hour hotline for pregnant girls and women who find themselves scared and feel that they have no hope or that anyone can help them through this frightening time in their lives. Many are hiding their pregnancies, are near birth term, have no plans for their babies once born, and need prenatal care. s. Some will call 1-888-628-3353 and speak with a caring volunteer, while others will email us via our web site. Once we are contacted, we listen and offer ways we can help. Many need guidance to medical care and counseling. Some just need emotional support. We tailor each case to the specific girl or woman as needed. Many choose adoptive families who have been carefully screened, while the rest will get support, guidance and confidence to raise their babies. Our goal is to have each baby safe, and each birthmother proud of the decision she has made.
