Zuma's Rescue Ranch receives Mobile Therapy Room from the Cunningham Foundation, Tammy Cunningham

Tammy Cunningham recently donated a mobile therapy unit to Zuma's Rescue Ranch. This generous donation will allow Zuma's to take a few of the animal therapy partners on the road to those unable to visit our 146-acre healing center in Littleton CO.

Feb. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Two great organizations teamed up this week to help kids in need! The Cunningham Foundation of Denver Colorado and Zuma's Rescue Ranch of Littleton Colorado are collaborating on a mobile therapy unit to send animal assisted therapy to the kids in need through out metro Denver.

The Cunningham Foundation, founded by the late Noel Cunningham and his wife Tammy, has been helping less fortunate children in Ethiopia with a literacy program. Today with this generous donation to Zuma's the Cunningham Foundation will be helping local Colorado kids have access to Animal Assisted Therapy.

Zuma's Rescue Ranch 501C(3) founded in 2008 by Paul and Jodi Messenich has been providing a much-needed alternative to talk therapy for kids with educational and emotional challenges. Zuma's "Feel" Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning program has been changing the way parents and children view "therapy" with this very effective, non-traditional learning program.

Many kids today are spending far too many hours with technology and not nearly enough time outdoors interacting with peers and nature. Zuma's Rescue Ranch takes kids out of the technology world and places them with both animal therapy partners and mentors. The FEEL program is designed to model ideal social skills and appropriate coping skills.

The vast 146 acre animal rescue/sanctuary in Littleton Colorado is just out of the way enough to give a sense of distance from the hustle and bustle, yet only 8 miles from a light rail station making access easy for all.
At Zuma's we save horses from slaughter and pair them with children in need. Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning (FEEL program). This well documented program has shown remarkable success in helping kids develop both social and coping skill necessary to succeed in today's highly technical fast paced world.

We have helped families overcome the angst of divorce, military separation, foster care placements, deaths and many behavior problems. This powerful form of therapy/education helps people identify the pitfalls in their lives and gives them the skills necessary to overcome.
Zuma's is a Non Profit Charity that relies on donations, sponsors and volunteers to keep the doors open. Please consider getting involved today. www.zumasrescueranch.com for details.
