Feb. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- MySchoolAct, the online music and talent competition exclusive to High Schools, is excited to announce their launch into North America. The expansion will be overseen by media consulting firm, Gnosiis Media, who are partnering with MySchoolAct to create a marketing and PR strategy to specific to schools, students, and sponsors in the US market.

In 2008, MySchoolAct held the first online music talent competition exclusive for Australian High School students, attracting more than 20,000 Fans and Acts nationwide. The competition fostered young talent across an array of genres and redefined how they engage with music.  The unique platform immediately attracted attention from companies such as Sony Music, Sony ATV, Nokia, Xbox, SAE Institute, Qantm College, Channel [V], The Music Network and Hyundai who signed on as sponsors during the pre-development stages.

A key factor in the success of the competition established in Australia is the focus of working with and for the schools. “There has been an increased interest in the musical programs from the participating schools in Australia, and the relationships among the schools have remained positive,” said Glenn Mathews, Chief Operating Officer for MySchoolAct. The “Giving Back to the Schools” initiative encourages students and fans to gain support for their favorite student musicians while simultaneously raising funds for their school. The competition is designed to increase student networking as well as furthering their education in music.

With funding being cut for extracurricular activities in schools across the USA, MySchoolAct is providing an unprecedented opportunity for schools to receive the much needed musical instruments and equipment. “American companies are going to have the opportunity with MySchoolAct to fill that void through turn-key sponsorship opportunities,” said Eli Kahn, VP of Media and Property Development.  “Through such a partnership, sponsors are not only able to showcase their brands but also provide students with a nationwide platform to develop their musical talents and possibly win the ultimate career kick starter”.

With the guidance brought by Gnosiis Media, MySchoolAct is searching out appropriate brands to help reach the 31,000 US High Schools for 2012. The platform offers brands the ability to reach a core youth demographic of influential high school students and will be tailored to meet brand-needs on a first-come first-serve basis
