bioltec receives FDA clearance for EVOLVE DUAL wavelength laser system

Feb. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- East Longmeadow, MA – February 2, 2012 – biolitec, Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of a broad array of diode laser based surgical treatment systems, today announced it has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its EVOLVE DUAL system for the vaporization of the prostate to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and numerous other minimally invasive surgical applications.

The EVOLVE DUAL system is the world’s first dual wavelength medical diode laser specifically designed for the urology market. It utilizes the highest power (200 watts) currently available and two uniquely blended wavelengths specifically matched for urologic applications.  

The EVOLVE DUAL system now gives urologists a new, faster and less-invasive method for treating BPH. The significance of this new treatment option is heightened by the incidence of BPH in the USA, with 50% of men over 60 and nearly all men over the age of 80, experiencing BPH symptoms. The EVOLVE DUAL system also offers minimal side effects, shorter recovery times, and avoids the costly and inconvenient overnight hospitalization normally required with competitive systems.
