Nevada State Bank hosts "Check in for Charity" fundraiser for American Heart Association

Feb. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- LAS VEGAS — Nevada State Bank is donating $1 to the American Heart Association (AHA) for every person who “checks in” to a Nevada State Bank branch via foursquare from Feb. 1-29. The bank will also donate $1 for every new Facebook “like” it receives during February. The fundraising campaign supports the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign, which raises awareness of women’s risk of heart disease.

“By using social media platforms in our fundraising efforts, we hope to encourage more people to join the cause and help raise money support the American Heart Association’s worthwhile initiative,” said Wendy Foster, senior vice president of retail sales for Nevada State Bank and board member for southern Nevada AHA chapter. “Heart disease is a real threat and we need to keep building awareness and save lives.”

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in women. According to the American Heart Association, more women die each year from heart disease than all forms of cancer combined.
