Urban Solar Awarded Bus Stop Solar Lighting Contract

Feb. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Victoria, BC, Canada, February 1, 2012 - Urban Solar Corporation, a leading manufacturer of solar powered LED transit lighting solutions, is pleased to announce that Greenway Public Transportation (GPT) of Conover, North Carolina, has chosen Urban Solar to fulfill their solar lighting bus stop requirements.  GPT selected Urban Solar’s PV-Stop solar powered lighting systems for their high intensity LED lighting, integrated low profile and vandal-resistant attributes.
 
Greenway solicited proposals to secure solar lighting for bus stops that would increase safety with sustainability.  The contract award between Urban Solar and the GPT, combines powerful LED technology and intuitive power management with environmentally friendly solar power to enhance the safety and rider experience of transit customers in the Conover area.

Ed Clifford, Greenway’s Executive Director, states “Greenway Public Transportation’s mission is to enhance the quality of life in the region by delivering safe, convenient and more environmentally efficient transportation solutions.  The PV Stop is solar-powered solution is a responsible choice at bus stops along the fixed route service.  The illuminated bus stops will visually assist early morning and late evening passengers while waiting, boarding and de-boarding the buses.  Greenway Public Transportation was pleased to award the bid to Urban Solar to provide the PV Stop solar lighting units.”
