Boylesports.com Tied Cottage Chase Betting

The top two in the betting for the Champion Chase – SIZING EUROPE and BIG ZEB – are set to lock horns this Sunday at Punchestown for the Boylesports.com Tied Cottage Chase – a contest they both used as their Cheltenham prep race 12 months ago.

Jan. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- There is, however, a slight doubt at this stage surrounding the meeting as the Punchestown’s course was described as heavy, but race-able, on Tuesday, and with heavy frosts forecast for the rest of the week then there is a strong chance the track will employ the use of covers to give themselves the best possible chance of racing.

Colm Murphy’s Big Zeb was second in this race 12 months ago, behind the ill-fated Golden Silver, with Sizing Europe back in third, before going onto run five lengths adrift of Henry de Bromhead’s charge in the Sportingbet.com Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham six weeks later.

Talking about his charge, Murphy said “Preparations are going very well. Ideally we would need better ground but we are going to stick to the same plan as last year,”

“We will run on Sunday and then on to Cheltenham and finally back to the Boylesports.com Champion Chase at the Punchestown festival all going well.”

Henry de Bromhead’s Sizing Europe has not been seen since routing his rivals in the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown back in December his trainer said: “Obviously we would prefer better ground on Sunday but we are sticking to the same route as last season.

“Sizing is in good form. We were delighted with his Tingle Creek run as it is recognised as a true two-mile test,” he added.

Looking ahead to the Champion Chase the betting suggests Sizing Europe can defend his crown being the current 9/4 market leader, with Big Zeb next best at around 4/1, but the result of this race will surely have an impact on the market afterwards.
