6th International ICT Awards-Philippines 2012 Announces Call for Nominations; Launches New Category

Jan. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Members of the information, communications and technology industries can set their eyes on a new trophy at the International ICT Awards – Philippines 2012. Slated for March 29, 2012 at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel, Manila, the ICT Awards seeks to recognize the outstanding performance and contributions of organizations and individuals in branding the Philippines as the world’s BPO destinations of choice.

“This year will be the first time a company will be awarded the ICT Quality Program of the Year Award,” said Canadian Chamber of Commerce Executive Director and lead Awards Organizer, Mr. Sean Georget.

“A company that puts a premium on quality will continue to outperform itself as well as others. If companies focus on this in the Philippines, we will be able to advance this sector and be competitive in global environment as one of the worlds IT-BPO destination of choice,” Mr. Georget explained.

The ICT Quality Program of the Year Award brings the categories up to nine. The existing 8 categories are for the BPO Company of the Year, BPO Employer of the Year, Shared Services Excellence Company of the Year, Non-Voice Excellence Company of the Year, Best New BPO Locator of the Year, Fastest Growing BPO Company of the Year, Most Innovative BPO Company of the Year and ICT Individual Contributor of the Year.

Mr. Richard Mills, Founding Chairman of the International ICT Awards – Philippines 2012, is confident that the ICT and outsourcing industries will continue to grow and provide significant economic contributions to the country.

He said, “Even with the challenges in the global economy, the growth of the IT-BPO related sector in the Philippines continues to be in the double digits. This is providing opportunities for Filipinos with quality jobs as well as being a significant contributor to economic growth in the country.

The International ICT Awards – Philippines 2012 is jointly organized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (CanCham) and the Business Process Association of the Philippines (BPAP) and Co-presented by Globe Business and PLDT Alpha Enterprise.

Nominations will be accepted until Monday, February 27, 2012 .
