Do Teens Need To Learn How To Kiss?

Every year millions of teenagers go online seeking relationship advice and answers on topics such as how to kiss and how to make out. Now a new website hopes to provide teens with kissing tips and information on how to kiss well.

Jan. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Every day hundreds of millions of kisses are being exchanged all over the world, some by people with a lot of kissing experience and others by people, mostly teenagers, with no or very little kissing experience. This raises the question, do teens really need to learn how to kiss or is it something that comes naturally?

According to Casper du Toit, the owner and founder of http://www.how-to-kiss.org, for most adults kissing has become like driving a car and requires very little effort once a person is used to it, but all motorists had to learn how to drive at some stage and experienced some anxiety at the prospect of getting behind the wheel of a car for the first time. He feels that the anxiety felt by an inexperienced motorist is not dissimilar to the anxiety many teenagers experience before kissing someone for the first time. He also points out that unlike driving a car, where drivers have a chance to practise their driving skills, the same can’t be said for kissing someone for the first time.

Casper du Toit was quoted as saying "None of us are born good kissers. We all have to learn how to kiss and how to kiss well. The first time a couple has a passionate kiss is often the deciding moment of whether there will be any further passionate kisses between them in the future and if they are compatible to each other. Most teenagers realize this and understand they may only have one chance to show someone they really care about how they feel about him or her and that if they blow their first kiss it may very well be the last time they will kiss that person. This creates a certain amount of anxiety for most teenagers as is evident by the thousands on search queries being done online every day by teens wanting to know how to kiss or how to make out."

When asked about the fact that there are already several websites online where teenagers can get advice on how to kiss, he replied "There are many websites that offer kissing tips for teenagers. However, the majority of them only deal with the physical aspect of kissing techniques and do not cover important issues such as the role that body language plays. Some studies suggest that up to 90% of communication is nonverbal and this nonverbal communication before, during and after kissing or making out plays a big role."

He elaborated by saying "What we are offering is a one stop shop where teenagers can get advice on all aspects related to kissing, including how to French kiss at http://www.how-to-kiss.org/how-to-french-kiss/ and how to make out at http://www.how-to-kiss.org/how-to-make-out/, all in one location. We also discuss many important do’s and don’ts that can make the difference between a memorable kiss and a kiss you would rather forget. We obviously focus on various kissing techniques as well but we go much further than just the physical act of kissing."

Casper du Toit is confident that how-to-kiss.org will soon be the premier kissing advice website on the net and stated that they will add additional information to the site on a regular basis to cater for the needs of their visitors such as kissing videos, photos and a question and answer section where teens can get first hand kissing tips and advice from their peers as well as share their kissing experiences.
