TASTE, EXPERIENCE AND EXPLORE FOODIE TRAILS PROGRAMS IN THE MELBOURNE FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL MAR 2012:

 MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: A cultural walking tour through Melbourne on a Foodie Trail is this year being featured in the Melbourne Food and Wine festival 20th year celebrations.

As part of the program this year Masala Trails extended special tours will be run on the 3,10,15 and 17 March. Showcasing the diverse tastes, spices and secret recipes of India found in Melbourne, each bite sensation, which takes you on a culinary journey to the dazzling cuisine capitals of India right here in Melbourne.

The four hour tour starts at Federation square in Melbourne’s CBD. On each tour guests will sample much more than tikka masala, tandoori, dal makhani and vindaloo. They will sample myriad flavours found in Punjab, Kerala and Tamil Nadu as the tour host unveils the secrets of Indian spices which makes the food so delicious.

Additionally, guests will embrace the colourful Indian culture as the tour guide highlights the complexities of Indian cooking while enjoying a sumptuous, progressive three-course Indian meal and desserts at Indian restaurants and cafes. Take the opportunity to shake a leg and join into some of the Bollywood dancing.

3-18 March – Melbourne food and wine festival 2012

17 to 25 March- Cultural Diversity Week Victoria – keep an eye on the social media for exciting news and announcements.   

25 March - Viva Victoria festival 2012 Federation Square – come and dress up in your favourite cultural outfit and take a photo.

19-25 March 2012 - A Cultural Feast – 2012 City of Glen Eira

Foodie Trails offers Masala Trails, Turkish Trails, African Trails and Indian cooking classes.

Groups from 4 up to 14 can book a tour, which starts at convenient locations in Brunswick, Melbourne CBD and Dandenong commencing at 11.30AM and finishing 2.30PM. The program includes a progressive three-course meal and visits to spice shops. The cost is $75 per head.
