-- (Hollywood, CA) - Six months after passing on her crown, Rima Fakih -Miss USA for 2010 - is trading in the glamour of the runway and the swimsuit competition, for the single microphone and the stage of Hollywood's famed Laugh Factory.
During her journey to becoming Miss USA 2010, Miss Fakih became the first Arab American to win the title. Along the way, she has been honored with several international and anti- discrimination awards.
“We are looking forward to her stand-up comedy debut at the Laugh Factory. Miss Fakih has a great sense of humor and outspoken personality that will change people’s perception of Arab-Americans in the states,” said Laugh Factory founder Jamie Masada.
Miss Fakih will perform on “Comedy Bazaar,” which is a weekly show featuring Middle
Eastern comics booked by Laugh Factory’s Christina Shams. Miss Fakih will debut her stand-up comedy act and host the show - along with several other comics including Ahmed Ahmed, Eman Morgan, Omar Elba, Aron Kader, Shawn Pelofsky, Asif Ali, and Chris James.
Laugh Factory has always been at the fore front of stand-up comedy, being the first comedy club to have Latino, Asian, Female, and African- American comedy nights. “Comedy Bazaar” will pave the way to encourage Middle Eastern comics to hone their skills.
