Gooseberry Patch Reaches 100,000 Fans on Facebook

Independent cookbook publisher releases free digital download of company founders Jo Ann & Vickie's 25 All-Time Favorite Recipes to thank community of friends and fans for social media milestone
Jan. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- Columbus-based cookbook publisher Gooseberry Patch recently hit a Facebook milestone as it reached 100,000 fans on its official Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/gooseberrypatch.

“Social media has become an important part of our outreach efforts,” says Gooseberry Patch co-founder Jo Ann Martin. “Our active and passionate community of recipe contributors and cookbook collectors is what fuels our company, and we're always looking for new ways to make sharing even easier. Facebook, in particular, has allowed us to connect with our fans on such a wonderful, personal level.”

Since its launch in September 2009, Gooseberry Patch's Facebook page has brought together fans from all across the United States and around the world.

"It's been exciting to watch our online community grow larger every day, and the interaction among cooks of all experience levels, sharing recipes and tips, has been wonderful," says Vickie Hutchins, Gooseberry Patch co-founder. "Facebook is a great tool to help us reach new people and share with them the Gooseberry Patch story and the joy of home cooking."

Gooseberry Patch uses its Facebook fan page in a variety of ways to interact with fans, such as sharing recipes and cooking tips, videos, behind-the-scenes photos, special promotions and giveaways, and most recently, its new "Fan of the Week" spotlight.

To reward its Facebook fans for this historic milestone, Gooseberry Patch compiled a special digital cookbook, "Jo Ann & Vickie's Favorite Recipes," which includes 25 all-time Gooseberry Patch favorites, such as Vickie's Tomato Pie, Jo Ann's Cowboy Cookies, Panzanella Salad and Pepperoncini Italian Beef. About Gooseberry Patch

After many a conversation over the backyard fence, Gooseberry Patch was born.
