By: EIEprogramme.com EIE laments the failure poor children and offers revision to save the situation EIE offers how over seventy percent failure rate must be averted London, UK: Official figures released today on the performance of school children show that over 70% of children from disadvantaged background failed to achieve the national minimum of 5A-Cs at GCSE. The Excellence in Education (EIE) programme (ExcellenceinEducation.org.uk) Chris Imafidon, a parent whose children set new world records via the programme, and who now serves on the board of the programme said that “these figures are very disturbing and lamentable particularly in the face of current evidence demonstrating that with the appropriate tools, techniques and technologies every child is a genius.” (www.imafidons.com) Research from the Sutton Trust already suggests that poorer pupils are more likely to fail than the average students. Now, as much as 90% of inner-city pupils failed to study Maths at A-Level and the EIE programme will expand its partnership with various groups to bridge this attainment gap between rich and poor pupils. It will be recalled that EIE programme has produced the highest number of record breaking pupils from inner-city London. Their students currently hold world records in GCSE exams, Mathematics, ICT, and Modern Foreign Languages. Today’s statistics showed that more than 60,000 London pupils, or 78 per cent, missed out on the new English Baccalaureate – a new qualification given for passing GCSEs in five academic subjects.
