Brickell World Plaza ‘building’ Receives ISO 27001 Top Security Certification

600 Brickell becomes the world's first multi-tenant, commercial office building to offer business continuity as an amenity and certified connectivity as the ‘fourth utility’
Jan. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- MIAMI —January 26, 2012 — 600 Brickell at Brickell World Plaza, developed by Foram Group, has officially been granted ISO 27001 certification as a result of its partnership with Consult2Comply (C2C). It is the world’s first commercial office building awarded this level of accreditation, among the world’s highest, for Information Communications and Technology (ICT) security.

The International Standards Organization (ISO), the issuer of the designation, is a global, non-governmental organization that promotes the development and implementation of voluntary information security management system standards. While many companies worldwide have achieved this accreditation, a “building” has never been granted compliance with this standard.

We leveraged the capabilities of our tool, Compliance Mapper™ to compare the touch points and to connect the dots in this standard with the many aspects of what the building was planning to offer its tenants on 40 floors.”

Mr. Clark added: “To obtain this accreditation, organizations are required to pass a very challenging jest evaluation and audits of their management practices. But this wasn’t your typical corporate structure. The building was brand new and it had never been done before, so a lot of adaptations and many aspects of the standard had to be considered, mapped to other requirements, policies and procedures and applied in unconventional ways. Our experienced team at Consult2Comply showed the professionals at 600 Brickell World Plaza how to use and apply the features of their building to their ISO 27001 Certification effort.”  

Ms. Cockrum said: “The complexity of this project was enormous. C2C helped us sort out, define and properly identify all the elemental issues so that we could get all of our documentation in order. There were minor issues when the building opened, but we got them straightened out and, thanks to Consult2Comply, we passed the audit with flying colors.”
