Follow on Google News | Rally for More Resources in the ClassroomThousands will call on the School Board to make students’ education its priority
By: Julia Grambo What: The Clark County School District must invest in education and put more resources in the classroom. This will be the message the rally and picket line will deliver to the School Board of Trustees on January 26. The District set its “Ready by Exit” goal in an effort to increase student achievement and improve graduation rates. Elimination of resources like the English Language Learner program and increased class sizes hinders the students’ ability to learn and the teachers’ ability to deliver quality instruction. Students must be provided with the classroom resources that will enhance the instructional experience. Students must receive the customized learning that will help them reach maximum potential. Every day that the District plays political games and doesn’t provide the tools and resources needed in the classroom, the learning experience of more than 300,000 students is shortchanged. Their future is adversely affected by the School Board’s decisions and actions. It is time the School Board makes the students’ education its priority and provides them the best learning opportunities. The School Board Trustees must get serious about the education they want for Clark County’s public school students, and the time is now! When: Thursday, January 26, 2012 @ 4:45 p.m. Where: 2832 E. Flamingo Road Las Vegas, NV 89121 End
