Leadership SLO Appoints New Board Members and Foundation Chair

Jan. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA – Leadership SLO has announced their new board members for 2012.  Of the new members, local real estate broker and graduate of Class I, Dawna Davies of Davies Company Real Estate, will be serving as Leadership Foundation Chair.  Other new board members include Russ Levanway, president of TekTegrity, Jon Jaeger, marketing director at Earth Systems, Sandy Sachs of the SLO Wellness Center, Christine Wallace of the SLO Police Department and Carol Fleury, owner of Best Bike Zone.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to give back to the program and use the tools I received when I was a class member. We had a fantastic twentieth anniversary celebration several months ago, and I am committed to continue to connect to the alumni, continue awareness of the program throughout the community and raise funds to support scholarships and the endowment,” said Davies.

Over 700 community members have graduated from the program since its start in 1991.  The program takes class members through a ten-month course committed to developing effective leaders in business and the community. Like Davies, all board members have participated in the program and have volunteered their time and resources to keep the program going throughout the years.

“I credit a large part of the program’s success to the bold people who apply.   These are folks full of curiosity and eager to find ways to serve the community.  Leadership SLO also thrives because of the generous and diverse pool of volunteer speakers and organizers who come share their experience and insight year after year,” said Sandi Sigurdson, executive director of Leadership SLO and graduate of Class I.
