The prepared environment enables the toddler to explore and to choose activities that develop skills and independence. Through practical life experiences, the toddlers learn to care for themselves and for each other.

Early Childhood Education-Kanata Toddlers Now Get Customized Early Childhood Education Program!

Each toddler's day includes individual work time; group time for stories, singing and physical movement; snack and outdoor time. Toddler students have their own fenced playground with appropriate equipment and play structures. On most days, the students go for short walks together or play outside. The class is limited to 15 students with one Montessori trained educator and 3 fulltime assistants.

Founded in 1974, Kanata Montessori School is a non-denominational, not for profit, independent school. KMS is continually broadening the services it provides to meet the changing needs of its students and parents alike.
In its early beginnings, KMS offered Casa programming. In the 1990’s KMS moved to the Kanata South business park. In 2008 KMS completed a major expansion and now enjoys a full sized gymnasium that benefits all KMS programs and provides the opportunity for many community activities. Currently, KMS offers toddler, casa, elementary and junior high programming. KMS has over 50 staff, including specifically trained Montessori educators, specialists in Art, Music, Physical Education and French and a strong support staff.
