Howdy Honda Announces that Honda Delivers Test Fit EVs

Jan. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- Howdy Honda, a Honda dealer in Austin, is happy to announce that Honda’s EVDP kicked off in Torrance, California. To kick off the beginning there was a ceremony at the Torrance City Hall where a key to a brand-new Honda Fit EV was given to the Mayor of Torrance, Frank Scotto. American Honda’s VP of Environmental Business Development, Steve Center, presented Mayor Scotto with the key to the new Fit EV.

Mr. Center went on to state that, "This is an exciting day as we take another important step toward Honda's comprehensive vision for reducing CO2 emissions while at the same time advancing our relationship with the city of Torrance. Honda has a long history with electric vehicles starting with the introduction of our first battery-electric car, the EV Plus, nearly 15 years ago. With Honda's extensive experience and the real-world feedback from the city of Torrance, we will be even more prepared for the further customer adoption of electric vehicles."

Throughout the past year both the City of Torrance and Honda have been working vigorously to gain insight in a wide variety of areas including; location of recharging stations as well as EV public awareness events.
