Dusit Thani Dubai colleagues donate to Typhoon appeal

Jan. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Dubai: Colleagues at Dusit Thani Dubai delivered boxes of vital clothing supplies to help those affected by Typhoon Sendong in southern Philippines.

Thyphoon Sendong swept across areas in southern Philippines on December 16th and since then the Philippines Red Cross and other volunteers have been working tirelessly in the cleanup process. Dusit Thani Dubai has been working with CPI Dubai in answering the Philippines Red Cross’ appeal for clothing and other necessary items to be sent to those in need.

Over a two week period, an internal collection saw hotel colleagues donate more than six large boxes of clothing and other essentials to assist in the appeal. In addition to this Dusit Thani Dubai’s Myanmar colleagues also clubbed together to assist financially in the appeal efforts.

James R Wilson, General Manager at Dusit Thani Dubai, said: “These past few months have seen a number of natural disasters affecting some of our colleagues’ home countries, and they are often unable to fly home to help their friends and family. As a hotel we recognize this need for support and look at ways in which we can be of most assistance in helping those affected. When we saw CPI Dubai facilitating the Philippines Red Cross appeal, we saw this as a great opportunity to give support where it is most need.
