Zach Getz Joins Sunrise Aviation in Jacksonville

Zachary Getz, a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, has joined Sunrise Aviation as a flight instructor in Jacksonville.  Getz now has more than 700 flight hours and has done nearly 300 hours of flight instruction since he graduated from ERAU in May 2011.  Getz has flight instructor airplane single-engine and instrument flight instructor ratings.  He was previously working for Sunrise Aviation and assigned to their main base of operations at Ormond Beach, Florida.

Sunrise Aviation in Jacksonville is the exclusive flight training vendor for Florida State College at Jacksonville.  Since beginning flight training in Jacksonville in September 2011, Sunrise Aviation has seen its enrollment grow by more than 100%.  More than 40 students are now enrolled in Sunrise Aviation’s and FSCJ’s flight courses in Jacksonville.  Sunrise Aviation now has six flight instructors assigned to the Jacksonville satellite including three graduates from FSCJ’s flight program.  

Sunrise Aviation is FAA approved and offers private pilot, instrument, commercial, multi-engine and flight instructor courses in Jacksonville.  Sunrise Aviation and FSCJ are approved for veterans pilot training benefits including Chapter 33 Post 9/11.  FSCJ offers a variety of federal and state scholarship and grant programs.

Sunrise Aviation has been training pilots since 1983.  They have more than 40 aircraft in Ormond Beach and Jacksonville.  The fleet continues to grow in both locations with additional aircraft expected to arrive in Jacksonville later this month to help serve the additional students enrolled there.
