-- On January 19, Ladd Sanger, Managing Partner of the Dallas office of Slack & Davis, L.L.P., and Paula Sweeney, Of Counsel, announced a gift of $15,000 to the Dallas Bar Association’
s 2012 Equal Access to Justice Campaign benefiting the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program.
The firm’s donation pushed the campaign over the $750,000 goal, helping it reach new heights in the history of the campaign. Mr. Sanger and Ms. Sweeney, representing Slack & Davis’ Dallas office, are “glad to help this important program and continue the firm’s tradition of serving the community.”
“Many thanks to Slack & Davis for their generosity and for the example which it sets,” said Paul K. Stafford, President of the Dallas Bar Association. “Their contribution will help serve the legal needs of the less fortunate in our community.”
The Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program is a joint initiative of the Dallas Bar Association and Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas. Recognized by the American Bar Association for its exemplary services, DVAP conducts neighborhood clinics each month at four community locations, and provides a specialty clinic to assist the elderly with wills and other needs. DVAP recruits and trains volunteer attorneys, and provides staff support to the volunteers. Each year, DVAP provides free legal assistance to approximately 3,475 families in Dallas County.
