Jan. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- I Think My Facebook Friend Is Dead, the second feature from Lockbox Entertainment has just been nominated as an Amazon Studios Semi-Finalist for Best Test Movie of the Year (2011) and as Semi-Finalist for Best Test Movie of December 2011. Principal cast members Tyler Derench, Samba Schutte and Nick Troy have also each received Best Actor nominations for their performances. Additionally, screenwriters CT Clark and Donnie Clark received nominations for Best Script of the Year (2011) having previously won Best Script in September 2011. Selected by an A-list panel of industry judges, finalists in all categories will be announced on January 24 and the Best Test Movie of the Year will be announced on February 7.

Released exclusively on Amazon Studios (http://studios.amazon.com/movies/12760) on December 28, 2011 I Think My Facebook Friend Is Dead is free to watch and has remained in the spotlight as the number one project over the entire site for every week since its release. The film also continues to receive excellent five-star accolades from viewers and filmmakers alike. Directed by Cisco Ruiz (Executive Producer of The Man That I Was), I Think My Facebook Friend Is Dead is a heart-warming and hilarious comedy about Owen Dietz (Tyler Derench) and his three virtual friends who meet up in the real world to track down Owen’s online crush who has mysteriously gone offline. This modern nerd-herd adventure is the mayor of all stories about friendship and love in the internet era. Quite fittingly, I Think My Facebook Friend Is Dead, a tale about how we create relationships and connect with others via the Internet, can only be viewed online.

Originally submitted to Amazon Studios as a test script by Donnie & CT Clark, I Think My Facebook Friend Is Dead has benefited from the new studio’s mission to bring filmmakers and movie-lovers together online to foster rich, commercially-successful content. Thanks to this new, crowd-source model, Screenwriter, Clutch Singleton, and later Director, Cisco Ruiz, were both independently able to take this original script and further develop the concept into an updated second draft (Singleton) and a ninety-seven minute feature (Ruiz). Since Ruiz’s cut of the movie was released on Amazon Studios both the Clark brothers and Singleton have expressed their enjoyment of Ruiz’s new, live-action version and acknowledged his commitment to the heart of the original story and the voice of the characters. I Think My Facebook Friend Is Dead marks Cisco Ruiz’s feature directorial debut. The movie’s writers and director have only ever met online, after the movie’s release.

Shot in Los Angeles, I Think My Facebook Friend Is Dead stars the four very talented up-and comers Tyler Derench, Cyndee San Luis, Samba Schutte and Nick Troy - all active performers in the Los Angeles area. Dallas-based Chad Windham served as the Director of Photography and the movie was edited by Vicente Perez with additional editing by Eric Davidson. Visual Effects were produced by Hector Rodriquez and Eva Valett was the movie’s Producer.
