Award Winning Reality TV Publicist Charlie Barrett to NATPE TV Meet Jan 23-25, Miami Beach

Jan. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA -- Reality TV publicist Charlie Barrett, known in the Hollywood television industry for holding the record as the longest running and seamless service “Reality TV” publicist in the entertainment industry will be at NATPE (National Association. of Television Program Executives) convention set for January 23-25 at the Fontainebleau Resort in Miami Beach.

At NATPE, Mr. Barrett with be meeting with global television program providers, producers and syndicators covering both the reality and drama series program areas. One of the series Mr. Barrett represents is After Dark Tonight,  a late night reality series developed by UK producer-writer Alan Wilson, formerly of the BBC and Thames TV.  While at NATPE, Mr. Barrett can be reached at Loews Miami Beach Hotel.

In recent times, Charlie Barrett has been associated with such reality TV series as Millionaire Matchmaker, The Amazing Race, The Biggest Loser, Last Comic Standing, Celebrity Apprentice, The Real Housewives of Orange County, Oprah’s Big Give and many others. Earlier in the 1990s he represented Fox’s Cops. While at NBC-TV network from 1970s to the 1990s, Charlie Barrett broke new ground with television media, helping establish the fledgling reality TV genre on network television with the debut in 1987 of the seminal reality hit series Unsolved Mysteries hosted by award winning actor Robert Stack.

Charlie Barrett launched his PR firm, The Barrett Company in the early 1990s, after serving for more than 10 years with the National Broadcasting Company where he directed media relations and was publicist to Johnny Carson, Ed McMahon and The Tonight Show and also NBC's Today.  He also served as the network publicist for NBC News, the hit MGM TV series Fame with Debbie Allen, the popular Emmy winner comedy  show SCTV Network (Second City Television) with John Candy, Catherine O’Hara  as well as NBC’s American Film Institute Life Achievement Award TV specials.
