Jan. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Altadena, CA - Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) is steadily gaining popularity amongst Americans according to the NCCAM, the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Acupuncture one of the most widely used CAM therapies, but there are still many concepts that patients would like to understand, which is one of the reasons why MMA Acupuncture is going to be conducting a series of events like this throughout the year.

“The goal is to educate individuals on acupuncture, integrative and alternative medicine, mind-body exercises, and a more holistic approach to healthcare,” said Mr. St. Juste, licensed acupuncturist and martial arts instructor. "People in our community want to learn more, they just need opportunities to learn available to them."

Mr. Carlo St. Juste Jr., L.Ac is owner of MMA Acupuncture, which provides mobile acupuncture and holistic home healthcare services to cities in the LA unincorporated areas such as Altadena, Eagle Rock, and Tujunga. The lectures aim to help anyone interested in holistic therapies to learn more about the benefits and safety issues. He has seen first hand the healing potential of combining eastern and western therapies to help people take responsibility of their health.

Mr. St. Juste is also currently the tai chi chuan and qi gong instructor at Porter Ranch Medical Center in Porter Ranch, California, and teaches a mixed martial art he calls Kung Fu Street MMA. The research on tai chi is beginning to take notice within the mainstream and he hopes to provide more information to people suffering from conditions that may benefit from daily tai chi practice.

The two events are scheduled for 3PM, February 11, 2012 at Coco’s Restaurant in Pasadena, California, and 3PM on February 25, 2012 at the main branch of the Altadena Library. Both events are open to the community, and individuals are encouraged to reserve seating on the MMA Acupuncture website. Refreshments will be provided to attendees, but it is recommended that interested attendees come early.
