Jan. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- LOS ANGELES, CA (January 2012) – Legendary producer, engineer and musician Alan Parsons has announced his plans for the upcoming annual NAMM show in Anaheim, CA. On Wednesday January 18th, Alan will be honored with the Electronic Musician Editor’s Choice Award for his DVD video series "The Art And Science Of Sound Recording" and will be making appearances at the Hal Leonard  and Aphex booths. More information about the exact booth locations for each appearance will be listed on Alan’s Facebook pages and Twitter closer to the date.

Alan Parsons' newest single “All Our Yesterdays” is available now through digital retailers and The Art And Science Of Sound Recording is available online and in stores nationwide. Downloads and  physical 3-DVD boxed sets are both available.

Also, NAMM officials have announced the below event with Alan Parsons and David Pack for opening day:

“The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) today announced that its Hands-On Training (H.O.T.) Zone, which serves as an education center for pro audio, entertainment technologies and music business operations, will feature a 1-1/2 hour surround playback session, video presentation and Q&A with superstar artist-producers Alan Parsons and David Pack. This special session, billed as "Tales from the Studio and Road" will be "packed with surprises" according to the creative duo. The Parsons and Pack Sessions will be held from 3:30 – 5:00 on NAMM's opening day, Thursday January 19, in the 2nd  floor H.O.T Zone area of the NAMM Show, in Hall “B” of the Anaheim Convention Center.”

Parsons started his career as an assistant engineer at the famed Abbey Road Studios working on projects such as The Beatles’ Abbey Road and Let It Be, and quickly became one of the most sought-after names in the recording industry for his engineering work on Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. After earning accolades for his work behind the glass, Parsons, also a talented musician, formed The Alan Parsons Project, a progressive rock band featuring Parsons, his collaborator Eric Woolfson and a rotating cast of studio musicians.

The Art and Science of Sound Recording (www.artandscienceofsound.com) features ten hours of original video material that teaches viewers about every aspect of music production – from the intricacies of studio acoustics to the history and progress of artificial reverb technology. In tandem with the DVD series, Parsons released the single, All Our Yesterdays, featuring some of Los Angeles’ finest musicians and a rare vocal performance by Parsons.
