Vanguard University Announces 7th Annual Spring Conference and Gala to Combat Human Trafficking

Vanguard University’s Global Center for Women and Justice (GCWJ) Director Sandra Morgan spearheads “Ensure Justice 2012: Standing Together to End the Exploitation of Girls.”

Jan. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Costa Mesa, CA – Vanguard University (VU) recently announced the upcoming GCWJ annual conference, “Ensure Justice 2012: Standing Together to End the Exploitation of Girls,” scheduled for March 2-3 kicked off with a gala dinner on March 1. Sandra Morgan, GCWJ Director and former Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force Administrator, will spearhead the two day conference with a strategic plan: to proclaim dignity, train advocates, and educate communities to respond to commercial sexual exploitation of girls and young women.

Sandra Morgan will bring together leaders from the frontline in communities across our country to learn from the experience and expertise of judges,  law enforcement, doctors, nurses, social workers, educators, and community faith leaders.

In response to President Obama’s recent announcement that January is officially National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, Morgan stated, “This is a step forward in the effort to combat human trafficking that requires much more than awareness.”

In her commitment to combat human trafficking through local community efforts, Morgan will be making several local appearances over the course of January where she will be speaking and sharing her experience in abolishing heinous crime.

The conference will begin with a gala dinner with special guest Rhonda Sciortino, radio show host of CRACK THE CODE on KTIE 590 and author of Succeed Because of What You’ve Been Through. GCWJ anticipates over 300 guests. The two-day conference is open to the public and will include break-out sessions and guest speakers Jeremy Kohomban, PhD, New York’s Children’s Village, Judge William Voy, Las Vegas Juvenile Court, and Mary Wickman, RN, PhD, Professor of Nursing, Vanguard University.

The 2 day conference cost $115 per person, which includes Saturday lunch and conference materials. Early bird registration rates are available before February 12th at http://gcwj.vanguard.edu/annual-conference/. Gala tickets may be purchased for $150 per person with sponsorship opportunities available.
