Creative Automation improves major Contact Lens Production Line
Creative Automation is in the final phase of successfully supplying and installing an improved specialised vacuum system for a major contact lens manufacturer.
In order to maintain lens power integrity it is vital that all lenses from previous batch runs are removed from lens trays. Creative Automation has devised an improved method of clearing swarf and debris, thereby removing the need for costly visual inspection, and the associated human error.
The new vacuum system is fitted with a sensor which automatically starts the system, and also a timer which will stop the system, either when no trays are detected or timer preset is reached. The vacuum cleaner is fitted with an inline interceptor which catches all debris, and a sensor which will indicate when system is full. This will trigger the automatic drain which will pump waste from the unit. The vacuum system is virtually maintenance free, and will run efficiently for 24 hours a day.
The Creative Automation vacuum system is cost-effective, easily integrated and efficient. After installing an initial prototype to one of the production lines in the process, Creative Automation were commissioned to provide another 13 vacuum systems for the remaining lines, and the last of these installations is currently taking place.
