Jan. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Laurel, MD - Black Bag Productions, a full service event planning company based in Laurel, Maryland proudly announces the creation of a new online magazine specifically targeting brides of color and the “encore” or second-time bride.  Black Bag Bridal (www.blackbagbridal.com) is an online quarterly and features articles on beauty, health, fashion, style and weddings ideas and planning for brides who are over 40, from diverse cultures or who are encore brides.  Company owner and President Kim Moss says she realized there were no other online magazine specifically catering to brides of color who may be older and who weren't interested in the cutesy 20-something styles for their first or “encore” wedding.  When asked what “encore” wedding meant, Moss laughed and said that she and fellow planners decided that it sounded much better than “repeat” or even second wedding.

Moss, who planned her wedding in August 2005, found it challenging to find the right style and look for her encore wedding, let alone the favors, cake tops and more.  “Being almost 50 at the time was challenging enough going into David’s Bridal and trying on dresses that didn’t make me look crazy and clueless about my age. Everything I found was really directed toward to the under 30 crowd or the ones that were "age appropriate" made me seem matronly and I wanted to be stylish and elegant.”  While planning a client wedding in August 2009, Moss decided to create a magazine targeting the same audience she was a member of and found other colleagues who recognized the same need.  Moss, a certified wedding planner, had not only firsthand experience as an encore bride, but also has clients who agreed to be featured in the magazine that fit the marketing profile.

The quarterly magazine strives to address beauty, fashion, destination weddings and honeymoons, photography, flowers, wedding/reception planning, décor, etiquette and more.  Moss continued, "It is important to me that we feature articles that are fun, yet informative and is written for grownups who understand exactly what the milestone they are preparing to embark upon."  Regular features in the magazine include Romance and Finance, Blueprint for Style, Inspirations by Gina, HealthSense, Spiritually Speaking, Behind the Scenes, Set the Night (or Day) to Music, Luxe Love, In Bloom, In Focus and Ask Deb.  Additionally, subjects saved for after the honeymoon and are addressed through articles from experts in their respective fields.  I contacted vendors and experts that I knew would be able to write about areas important to not only “first time” brides, but encore brides as well.  Professional planners agree that encore couples want to do things differently on this trip down the aisle, and, there are rules that apply for their weddings that don't apply to first time brides.  Moss goes on to say that the reach of the magazine is phenomenal since the groups we are writing for are literally all over the world and we have had views from as far away as India and Australia.

A reception to celebrate the magazine launch is planned for later in the year to coincide with the anniversary of the premiere issue launch.  The magazine is also available in print form on Amazon and will be available in iPhone, Android, Nook and Kindle formats with the fall/holiday 2012 issue.  For more information on Black Bag Productions, visit the site at www.blackbagproductionsonline.com
