John Lewis To Launch New US Men's Brand Grayers In The UK For Spring/Summer 2012
John Lewis is exclusively launching new Stateside casual men’s brand Grayers in the UK for Spring/Summer 2012.
Available in select John Lewis stores and online in early February, the new Grayers collection is vintage-inspired with a modern preppy lineage. A casual collection with a smart attitude, the range incorporates bright weathered colors and fabrics with a beautiful touch and feel. Based on the fundamental men’s must-haves, the range includes outerwear, knitwear, jerseys, polos, shirts, shorts and chinos with prices ranging from £18 for a classic t-shirt to £125 for a military style trench coat.
Looking to the Duke of Windsor and Steve McQueen, the King of Cool, as inspiration, Grayers is masterfully created with details and washes that evoke weathered looks with provenance and refined elements of a classic bygone era.
Matt McCormack, Head of Buying Menswear says: Grayers’ collection is accessible and timeless with a thread of vintage heritage running through each garment. With it’s easy-to-wear, must-have pieces built around a muted colour palette of navys, greys and blues, we’re expecting the brand’s smart and sophisticated, yet playful and preppy look, to be a hit with our customers. We’re extremely excited to be the exclusive UK stockist”.
Peter Georgiou, Grayers Founder says: “The time is right for Grayers. We felt there was a big open space for a casual men’s collection that is not overly designed and too fashion forward, but is still modern and totally relevant for the way guys really want to dress. We
constantly think about what guys are doing, where they are going and what they will need to wear. Celebrated for its rich heritage and narrative, we felt John Lewis was the perfect platform to launch Grayers in the UK.”
