Jan. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Looking for a unique setting for your Valentine celebration? A new website, ValentineTrains.com, has the perfect answer. This year, toast cupid's big day with a romantic rail adventure. A Valentine train ride is a fun and intimate way to give someone you love a Valentine's Day treat to long remember!

There's nothing more romantic than a train ride. Add the glamour of an old-fashioned dining car and you have the beginning of a one-of-a-kind Valentine's experience. Of course, no two Valentine trains are alike. But all aim straight for your heart with scenic routes, classic coaches, and -- often -- little extras like chocolates, roses, entertainment, and champagne.

Valentine rail excursions take many different forms. Antique steamers and golden age diesels haul an assortment of streamliner dining cars, century-old Pullman cars, and, in Northern California, the Napa Valley Wine Train's spectacular Vista Dome.

While onboard offerings range from buffets to pay-as-you-go snacks, a number of Valentine trains feature elaborate multiple course dinners. Entrées vary but selections like Chicken Marsala, salmon and prime rib are typical. Vegetarians seldom need despair. Vegetable lasagna or an alternative veggie choice is standard on most dinner trains. In addition to the Napa Valley Wine Train, premier Valentine dinner trains include My Old Kentucky Dinner Train, Ohio's Cincinnati Dinner Train, and the Rio Grande Railroad in Colorado.

Champagne bottles are known to pop! Beer and wine are generally standard and full bar service is often available. Don't let a "booze-free" train slow you down. Ask about their BYOB policy (it will save you money).

When the view fades, onboard entertainment frequently picks up the slack. Expect strolling musicians, a small combo, or even a full-blown murder mystery. Owing perhaps to Agatha Christie, murder mysteries are popular enhancements to Valentine rail excursions. Many Valentine train goers will be delighted to find that dramatic hi-jinx play a key roll in their onboard experience. Florida's Seminole Gulf Railway, Michigan's Old Road Dinner Train, and the Fillmore & Western Railway in California are just a few of the railroads hosting Valentine who-dunnits.

Dinner trains are not the only way to celebrate cupid's special day. Arizona's Verde Canyon Railroad tempts chocoholics with its Chocolate Lovers’ Festival Train. The event coincides with the railroad's annual Eagle Watch, a time when bald and golden eagles are best viewed in a remote canyon sanctuary accessible only by rail. Exquisite chocolate confections heighten the romance of the experience.

In Texas, the Grapevine Railroad charms sweet-toothed lovers with its own Wine and Dessert Train. California's Niles Canyon Railway hosts a special wine tasting aboard its vintage Art Deco lounge car.

Romance takes a back seat to family fun when America's best-loved beagle shows up. The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad in North Carolina and the Texas State Railroad welcome Snoopy and the Peanuts gang for kid-friendly Valentine events that include train rides, Valentine card making, a presentation of the classic "Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown," and photo-ops with costumed characters including Charlie, Lucy and the cuddly canine.

Wherever your heart takes you, there's probably a Valentine train ride nearby. Dozens of events are scheduled across the US (and in Canada, the UK and Australia, as well). To find one, visit http://www.valentinetrains.com
