Online Marketplace for Small Businesses Launched in Calgary

Goods with Story (www.goodswithstory.ca), which went live on November 1st, 2011, seeks to fill a niche for small business owners by offering the public one stop shopping for Canadian Shoppers. Goods with Story aims to be the largest destination for unique and creative products from dedicated Canadian sellers.

This marketplace is the brainchild of two passionate Canadian entrepreneurs, Ildar Sharafutdinov and Andrei Filonov. They started Goods with Story because they know how hard it is for small business owners to start, grow and sustain their small operations. They aspire to become one of the leading e-commerce platforms in Canada by connecting small business owners and their stories with consumers who want to become more informed about the goods they acquire.

Andrei and Ildar envision taking their customers to the world before globalization, where economies were local, and all the transactions were face-to-face. Today, most of e-commerce is anonymous, most customers buy products from big retailers without seeing the manufacturer, or producer directly.

The philosophy at Goods With Story is to get consumers thinking about the purchases they make and where the money goes. There is a story to every seller on the website so buyers can put a name and a face with every transaction. These Sellers are inspiring and hardworking people that very often follow their dreams to do what they love, and what they are passionate about.
