iGlobalWellness helps staff get active for London 2012 Olympics

Health and wellness programmes provider iGlobalWellness is launching an Activity for All campaign which aims to get more people moving as a result of the 2012 Olympics.1

Jan. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- LONDON – The UK government says it wants the whole population to become more physically active after this summer’s Olympics. iGlobalWellness has the technology to measure just how active people are each day.

iGlobalWellness offers health and fitness programmes that encourage employees to increase their daily activity. The programmes use more sophisticated technology than other pedometer-based schemes. Users wear an activity monitor which measures speed of movement and calories burned. Results are then uploaded wirelessly so progress can be tracked online.

This year iGlobalWellness is running a series of athletics-themed challenges inspired by the 2012 London Olympics.

iGlobalWellness offers its two main programmes – the competitive Stay Active Challenge and the individualised Personal Wellness Programme – to companies across the UK and in Europe. Since launching in 2008 iGW has staged five Stay Active Challenges and helped hundreds of employees increase their activity levels. Its clients include GlaxoSmithKline, customer loyalty specialists Affinion International, Cosmopolitan Housing Group in Liverpool, ferry operator DFDS Seaways and Sheffield University.

iGlobalWellness is a start-up company advised by Premier Rugby chief executive Mark McCafferty and former Olympic athlete David Moorcroft.
