-- General Alvaro Baltodano, Presidential Delegate for Investments, and Valdrack Jaentschke, Vice Chancellor of Nicaragua, received a high-level delegation of officials from the Government of Thailand with the objective of strengthening ties and promoting the development of economic relations between both countries.
The Thai delegation was led by Mr. Jullapong Nonsrichai, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his Excellency Mr. Suvat Chirapant, Appointed Ambassador of Thailand in Nicaragua.
General Baltodano highlighted the importance of the visit of such a high-level delegation from Thailand and considered it to be an important sign that the economic relations between both countries will continue developing.
In this context, Mr. Nonsrichai extended an invitation to receive a Nicaraguan delegation in order to meet with the Thai Investment Chamber, as well as with representatives of the country’s private sector.
Mr. Jaentschke commented that “a country like Thailand, with a strong economy and extensive experience in the areas of tourism investment, can provide us with the development and investments our country needs”.
Additionally, Laureano Ortega, Investment Promoter of PRONicaragua, the official investment promotion agency, led a presentation that highlighted Nicaragua’s positive economic performance in recent years, as well as its excellent conditions for foreign investment. Nicaragua’s main investment opportunities within the renewable energy and infrastructure, agribusiness and free zones sectors were also presented to the Thai delegation.
