South Nassau Receives Inaugural Hospital Award

Previously, South Nassau was named to the Becker's Hospital Review 2011 lists of the "100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare” in the United States and 60 Hospitals with Great Orthopedics.

Jan. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- South Nassau Communities Hospital is the inaugural recipient of the Long Island Business News Healthcare Heroes Hospital Award. The award was presented to South Nassau’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, Joseph Lamantia, at the Health Care Heroes Awards 2011 breakfast ceremony.

The award was the fifth significant media honor that South Nassau received in 2011. Previously, South Nassau was voted the Best Hospital on Long Island by readers of The Long Island Press; ranked thirty-third in the U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals metro area rankings; and named to the Becker's Hospital Review 2011 lists of the "100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare” in the United States and “60 Hospitals with Great Orthopedic Programs.”

ü American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Get With The Guidelines® 2011 Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award;

ü HomeCare Elite™ top home health care provider (for 5 consecutive years);

ü “5-star” rating in bariatric surgery and maternity care for patient safety and quality care.
