Jan. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Ellen Woodward Potts is a featured guest on January 14, 2012.  She is co-author of A Pocket Guide for the Alzheimer's Caregiver and managing partner of Dementia Dynamics, along with neurologist Daniel C. Potts, MD. Additionally Potts is an adjunct professor at University of Alabama and a blogger for on the topic of dementia. Bob Blancato is National Co-ordinator for the Elder Justice Coalition in Washington, DC, a non-partisan, 850 member organization.  The Coalition was founded in 2003 in conjunction with the the Elder Justice Act (S. 333).   Blancato holds numbers other positions, including member of the boards of the American Society on Aging and the National Council on Aging. Dr. Joseph Scuderi, an opthamologist in private practice at St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA, will talk about the risks and treatments for macular degeneration (AMD).  AMD impacts 17 million adults over 40 and can lead to blindness without early intervention.   Dr. Scuderi earned an MD from New York Medical College and trained at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.  He is board certified by the American Board of Opthamology.  For thirty years, Dr. Joseph Scuderi has specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal and vitreo-retinal conditions, such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachments, eye injuries and complications from previous eye surgery.
