Love in Action; Local Artist, Children & Volunteers Continue the Love Epidemic
Tawanda Robbins and Community Volunteers continue the Love Epidemic by showing Love in Action to Nursing Home Residents and Homeless in Uptown Charlotte and by Partnering with The King’s Kitchen “To Feed the Hungry & To Heal the Brokenhearted”.
The “Love in Action” mission is to replace the feeling of despair and loneliness in those most forgotten. February 14 is the perfect day to put “Love in Action” because it is the day the world stands still for love. And nothing warms the heart more than hearing someone say ‘I Love You’. Last year on February 14th, 2,000 cards were designed by children from local schools, daycares, playgroups, and organizations and delivered to nursing home residents across Charlotte. Later that day, ‘I Love You’ cards were given to homeless individuals in the uptown Charlotte area with candy donated by Family Dollar Distribution Center. The love epidemic spilled over to other areas outside of Charlotte including, Rock Hill SC, Augusta GA, Nashville TN, and Lake Charles, LA just to name a few.
Additionally, schools and organizations have joined in on the “Love in Action” efforts. When you allow children to participate in projects like “Love in Action” they not only learn a lesson on love, but it also gives them the opportunity to practice it for themselves. “Love in Action” has also partnered with The King’s Kitchen, a not-for-profit restaurant, to bring hot meals to at least 300 homeless individuals in uptown Charlotte on February 14th. Each plate will contain a fried chicken breast & wing, macaroni & cheese, cabbage, carrots, a biscuit, a slice of cornbread and a drink. Beginning on January 11, join us by giving the gift of love by donating a "Love in Action" meal for $14/each from the King’s Kitchen. Your generous gift will demonstrate Gods “Love in Action”.
Tawanda Robbins and TL Music Group, LLC are seeking community help to ensure that “Love in Action” is a success! Local schools, day cares, playgroups, youth groups and other organizations are encouraged to take part in this opportunity to share love to those most forgotten. Everyone is also invited to make dinner reservations for The King's Kitchen and or donate a “Love in Action” meal for February 14th. Please contact Natalie at 704-375-1990 or stop in at 129 W. Trade St., Charlotte NC 28202 (www.kingskitchen.org)
Live music will be provided by local recording artists. The dinner hours are from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
