"FILL THE BOWL" Supplies Donation Drive to Support DFW RESCUE ME underway at Pete and Mac's Irving

Jan. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Pete and Mac's Pet Resort in Irving is hosting a supplies donation drive for DFW Rescue Me beginning immediately and running through Super Bowl Sunday, Feb 5th, 2012. Drop off donations at Pete and Mac's Pet Resort in 6150 Riverside Drive, on the grounds of the Las Colinas Equestrian Center.

Each year 5-7 million animals enter shelters nationwide.  3-4 million of those are euthanized, simply because no one wants them.  (ASPCA). DFW Rescue Me is an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non profit organization whose goal is to reduce the number of animals euthanized in Dallas.  Their goal is possible by spaying / neutering, adoption programs and educating about responsible pet ownership. Because the group is foster based and  is run solely on private donations, they need people who are concerned about the welfare of animals to join their growing ranks of supporters.

DFW Rescue Me has partnered with Pete and Mac's Pet Resort for donation drop off at their Irving pet boarding, daycare, grooming and training facility. Pete and Mac's (www.petemac.com) is located at 6150 Riverside Dr. In keeping with the football theme, Pete and Mac's is offering 50% OFF daycare during their Daycare Kick Off Party on Super Bowl Sunday or boarding on Super Bowl Sunday for any pet that makes a donation during the four week FILL THE BOWL Supplies Drive, as well as weekly prize drawings. The number of dogs and cats in rescues is at an all time high, as the struggling economy has forced many families to surrender a pet they can no longer care for. Some families in desperate situations have even resorted to leaving their pets behind in foreclosed homes. Your supplies donations are helpful for continued care and rescue of these pets. DFW Rescue Me is actively involved in rescuing abandoned or homeless animals from the streets, rehabilitating them, and finding them loving forever homes. By donating supplies to DFW Rescue Me during the FILL THE BOWL SUPPLIES DRIVE, as well as throughout the year, you can help ensure that displaced pets are kept safe and healthy until they find their new forever homes.
