Exciting changes ahead

Dori’s Diamonds would like to thank all of our loyal fans and friends for their support over the years. We will be changing our structure and taking a new direction to help build the fashion industry in Canada, and have new goals to take on and fulfill.

Dori’s Diamonds started in 2006 as a small online jewellery provider on eBay. Director Dorian Dunkley quickly selected the name “Dori’s Diamonds” very simply because she needed a username for her eBay page.  Dori’s Diamonds’ following grew, as clients and customers were impressed with the unique jewellery and great prices. Eventually, Dori’s Diamonds got its own website (www.dori.ca) and moved away from eBay. Since Dori’s Diamonds was mainly online, Dorian also began looking for ways to connect with the public. As a result, Dori’s Diamonds also began making stops at local schools and universities, and eventually tradeshows. Next, Dori’s Diamonds began hosting unique events to showcase some of her fashion jewellery in and around the city of Calgary. From these events, the first Frosted Gala was born, and the event took on a life of its own. Dori’s Diamonds’ Frosted Gala continues to be one of Dori’s Diamonds’ most popular and successful events, and is entering its fourth season with two galas planned for 2012.

Currently, Dori’s Diamonds primarily imports jewellery from all over the world, but since its inception, Dori’s Diamonds developed processes for custom design. As the name implies, Dorian started designing and producing diamond jewellery. Finally, Dori’s Diamonds has signed on a special group of local models called “Dori’s Dolls” who represent the brand locally and at all Dori’s Diamonds events. With this brand development, Dori’s Diamonds plans to continue to build and develop its signature line. The first piece in the signature line was Dori’s Diamonds’ “Return To Innocence” Signature Bow Ring. This milestone design marks the beginning of a new era for Dori’s Diamonds.

Dori’s Diamonds has made the decision to slowly move away from imported design, and continue to build its own exclusive series of jewellery. Imports for costuming and events will continue until the point at which Dori’s Diamonds own line is large enough to be featured exclusively. Representing Canadian Design and innovation, Dori’s Diamonds hope to harness the enthusiasm surrounding creative industries in Canada. With the support of other Dorian Inc brands, including SHIFT Talent, SECT Marketing, and Current events, Dori’s Diamonds will build its brand and following. Please watch for exciting new event releases, Dori’s Dolls expansion and development, and of course, more design! We hope you’ll join us as we strive to captivate and excite in the years to come!
